Time flies

Wow.. it is already June 9th and I am almost finished with my first semester here at Hillsong. It has been so good thus far. A bit of an emotional roller coaster from time to time but I know that I am in the center of God's will for my life. A quick over view of the past 6 months: I still don't have a job but am confident that God will provide. I love my housemates and the amazing friends that God has brought into my life. I have a new nephew in Cincinnati that I am aching to go and see along with two little nieces.

This has also been a time of changing mindsets. A time of being open to God acting in ways I have not experienced before. A time of pride being exposed and challenged. A time of seeing life from a new perspective. For the past 10 years I have had a comfortable job and a car and all the nice amenities that many Americans take for granted. Now I am living in a house with 6 other people and relying on my own two feet to get me around or the begging rides from people. That has been a huge eye opener. I realized on my walk home a few weeks ago that just having your own transportation opens up a freedom mindset. Not having a car creates a mindset that says I can't... Never would have learned that if I hadn't gone through this.

So my time at Hillsong is more than just taking classes. Living here is like one great big huge classroom. It stripes away all of your old comforts and basically you are left to lean hard into God. I think that has been my favorite part of being here. My relationship with God has become more tangible.

I still have 6 more months to go and I pray that God will continue to reveal himself to me. To continue to fuel a passion for his church and to build friendships that will last all eternity.
